Always love this place. Chips and salsa almost as soon as you're seated and not more than a 10-20 minute wait on food unless it's absolutely packed. Always tastes delicious. The staff is rushed because they're always moving and very productive as they are friendly and helpful.
Update: went back tonight after being away for a while and it's still the same quality of service and food. Absolutely love the fajitas and you get so much food for under $20!! The free warm chips and homemade style salsa are both a fantastic little bonus.

I enjoyed this restaurant quite a bit. The atmosphere was very festive and inviting. The staff was friendly, attentive, and the service was rather quick. The food itself tasted great and was a decent value for the price. The restaurant was marketed as authentic Mexican food. Which it manages to do a decent job of trying to keep things authentic, while still adding an Americanized flair.
Overall I would recommend this restaurant, for anyone who enjoys Mexican style food.

This is Americanized Mexican food, and honestly, it was probably the worst I've ever had. They're the kind of place whose tacos come with ground beef in hard shells with lettuce and tomato. Which is fine if that's what you're looking for, but that's not a Mexican taco.
I had been very happy with Taquería el Sol, but El Mezcal had better reviews, so I figured I'd give them a shot, too. I wish I hadn't. I got a specialty burrito, which I figured would be safe. It was easily the blandest attempt at Mexican food I've ever had. There was just no seasoning to speak of. Even their salsa lacked cilantro. It tasted like a basic tomato sauce.
I didn't finish my food. I asked for a box because I didn't want them to feel bad, but I threw the box in the dumpster when I got home.

My wife and I visited for Mother's day, they were busy but we had excellent service without the wait. The staff was friendly, and the food was delicious - we were hesitant having lived in an area known for similar excellent cuisine, but not to worry! Great prices to boot!

A great place for Mexican food. We usually get a dinner for two and we always have leftovers. Service is good even with limited staff. We enjoy coming here.
