We came here with family (visiting from San Antonio). Rustic log cabin style atmosphere. The portions are huge. (Sourdough hotcakes the size of dinner plates). Biggest cups of hot chocolate I've seen. But the best of all was the service. Ask to sit where "Sparky" is serving. She great with kids and it is like being served by your grandmother - wants you to be happy, and full!

This was a breakfast-out visit yesterday with two great friends. Gwennie's reindeer sausage, eggs, and home fries are the world's best. The Denver omelets are also scrumptious. The atmosphere is authentic Old Alaskan style and very comfortable. The servers are very attentive and do everything imaginable to provide a delicious, memorable meal. And the coffee! Gwennie's coffee is very likely the best on town! There's plenty of parking, too. Gwennie's: an excellent family restaurant with everything close to perfect!

Can’t put half a star so we put one star. Sure you might get their famous crab Benedict but you will not see it because it’ll be buried in sauce. You may order what you think is coffee but it’s battery acid. And of course you can’t expect your waiter to take down a side order of fries correctly she brings you potato skin instead. The only thing that got right was a orange juice directly from a can.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the world for weekend brunch and my favorite in all of Anchorage so far. Service is always exceptional (hi Brenda!). The reindeer omelette is incredible, but a lesser known banger is their BLT, which happens to be the best I’ve ever had. Prices here are great too. I intend to be coming back here for many years to come and I look forward to supporting this business well into the future.

This place was recommended by the locals. Prices are decent, but food is so so. Fisherman's sampler platter tastes like it came out of a frozen box. Carrot cake very dense. They serve a lot of food, but it tastes processed, not fresh or home cooked.
