Man, I’m upset I have to write this review. We used to LOVE Hat Creek. It was a bit pricier, but they had great custom ingredients - it was a “boutique burger.” We could get it exactly like we wanted. Not anymore.
We’ve tried. We’ve rolled with it. For a year. Sigh. But no more.
Their buns have gradually become flatter and flatter. It’s like a guy in the kitchen sits on them. And then, the grease from the meat turns the ultra-thin bun into wet paper when you pick it up. It shreds apart.
They’ve gradually cut half their ingredients off the menu. My wife loves feta on her burger. No longer offered. I love a swiss mushroom burger, but today was informed the only cheeses they now offer are American, Cheddar, and Pepper Jack.
Then, I was told “we don’t do no mushrooms no more.” So… wow.
And upon arriving home with my order, the expensive ingredients I did pay extra for (avocado and bacon) were not on my wife’s burger.
My kid said her burger smelled and tasted funny. Upon opening it, all kinds of “random ingredient bits” (onion, lettuce pieces, etc.) had found their way under the bun of a plain burger. The child won’t TOUCH IT, now. So a full burger - in the trash. (Okay, I expect that in fast food, but not for these prices. It speaks to a sloppy kitchen.)
All in all… I ended up paying $45 for 3 burgers, 2 fries, an order of fried pickles, 2 drinks and a small milkshake. I mean… we could sit down at a cafe or restaurant for that.
Shake was good, though. Then again it’s hard to screw up a shake.
If you’re going to charge 50-90% more than fast food prices… you need to be better than fast food.
So long Hat Creek, you were great when you were actually great. But “we don’t do no Hat Creek no more.”

Best burgers I have eaten in a long time! Highly recommend. Great portion size and the sweet potato fries are delish!

Fantastic burger, friendly staff (Steven was very welcoming and friendly), great beer, and a place for the kid to run off her energy. All around great place for the family. Good job all!

The burgers were ok but I've had better. It's a great place to go if you have kiddos. They have a playground for the kids while you wait for your food. The large doors are open to the playground while the weather is nice.

The hamburgers are excellent, best in Wylie for sure. The sweet tea is disgusting and the fries are meh. If you like thin fries, you'll probably like their fries.
