This place is great! The food was delicious. I had the tamale lunch which had shredded chicken inside and a flavorful beef sauce over it. They have an amazing dipping sauce for the chips unlike anything I have had. The atmosphere was awesome with handpainted murals everywhere and pictures of customers displayed on the walls and even the ceiling! I definitely recommend it.

Great atmosphere. Great staff. I had the absolute positively worst taco salad I’ve ever eaten in my life. The ground hamburger was like wet canned cat food. The lettuce was chopped very thick and you did not get very much at all. Very small amount of white cheese on top. And a yucky tomato slice on top. I mean not even cut up! with very little sour cream. The taco shell Was not even half filled. I ask for some onions but they never came. Someone else in our party ordered the same thing except for chicken instead of ground beef. No kidding they put a hunk of chicken inside the shell for them to break up. I actually complained but they never did anything about it :-( I suggest go to taco Bell.

I know this restaurant is locally acclaimed by the community as great but greatness doesn't show up in the toilet bowl after being eaten. Horrible food poisoning about 4 hours after finishing my steak with whatever the salsa was on too. The steak was underdone in some areas and overcooked in others. It was mush from whatever sauce was used and definitely was as Gordon Ramsay would put it: "Swimming in the f*$&$ sauce!". Unfortunate considering everyone else enjoyed their food. We didn't receive part of our order and they couldn't give a refund as their system wouldn't allow it. The only consolation they could give me was a gift card which is why this review is a two star. The manager explained that the system couldn't allow them to reopen a tab. While is is an obviously ineffective system it sucks because that gift card I'll just have to give away to someone else.

Jose's was quite busy when I arrived with a group of 14. The staff was more than happy to serve us and find tables, and they did so within minutes. Our servers were extraordinary friendly and helpful, and we ordered and got our food before we even had a chance to take in the beautiful decorations and scenery setting the tone in the restaurant. The food was more than delicious for all of us, and we were all very satisfied by the end. Very attentive staff, appropriate pricing, and wonderful food.

We really enjoyed our meal at Jose's. I had enchiladas Rojas and my adult son had a carne asada burrito. The meal came promptly and hot and the service was really good. The food was so tasty. We are up from Illinois hiking the state parks and we felt very fortunate and pleased with our Mexican restaurant choice as there are a few in town. We would definitely recommend Jose's to others.
