We actually took a taxi to and from this place from our hotel, and we were more than pleased that we did. The place was "hopping," but we were seated within about 10 minutes. We had INCREDIBLE soups (one of each of two special kinds for the week) and they were both delicious. Also had pizza and a salad. SO many pizza combination options it was hard to choose, but it was delicious. The salad was outstanding. Our only regret was that we hadn't ordered the mozzarella cheese sticks; had we seen them before ordering we may have even just gotten those instead of the pizza - incredible! Service was excellent, too. All around a trip well taken.

Delicious pizza; there's a reason they're often called the best in Alaska! Tried the Call of the Wild on regular crust and loved it. Half of a large fed two comfortably for lunch; leftovers provided two more meals. Would have downed another slice on-site but I was saving room for dessert. The stout chocolate cake was worth it - moist and very rich. Tried a flight of four beers - raspberry wheat, brown ale, a pale ale and the stout. All tasty, no standouts.

Excellent food and service. We had lunch at about 1pm and it was less then a 5 minute wait to be seated. Our waitress Rachel was awesome. She was very knowledgeable about the beers, food and very attentive. Here's what we had:
Honey ginger salad w/smoked salmon
A medium pizza half Firehouse/half Call of The Wild
Arctic Apple Broken Tooth beer
Rootbeer (made there)
Melt away brownie
This has definitely become a destination spot when in Anchorage. I'd hands down recommend this place to anyone. Adults looking to mellow out with a beer to families with children. For those from outside you'll definitely catch the Alaska vibe here even tho it's in the heart of Los Anchorage 😀

My husband and I are visiting from Missouri. We were told by several people that we needed to stop at Moose’s Tooth. We waited about 45 minutes for lunch and we’re not disappointed! The staff was very friendly and hospitable. I ordered a small Elf on The Shelf and my husband ordered Fire House. Both pizzas were full of flavor! Their house ranch was also outstanding. I highly recommend this pizzeria and pub!

Where to start? If you come to Anchorage and don’t find your way to the Moose’s Tooth (or their sister location, the Bear Tooth) you have done your travel planning all wrong. The place is an experience, the pizza unique and delicious, the beer is some of the best brewed in Alaska. Their brand swag is worn proudly by locals...which says a lot. Of course, a popular place like this requires a wait (no reservations). We always get drinks and play charades. The Backpacker’s Pizza is one of our favorites but there is no bad choice. Their home brew root beer and cream soda are worth the calories as is the Hungarian Mushroom Soup (and I don’t even really like mushrooms). The beer selection is wide and it is worth noting that many competing restaurants carry their brews. If you are having a special event, they have a side room that they rent at certain days/times during the week. In addition to fantastic food they host First Tap Thursday’s and many concerts during the year...so be sure to check their website. They are also a great spot for to-go orders as they have designated parking and registers for those picking up. The staff is a mix of familiar faces who have been there forever and teens and college students who have always been welcomed as employees. Everyone is friendly and they have creative combo suggestions, so make sure to ask! If you want the experience but not the wait, I’ve found that between 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. the crowd thins a bit and tables turn over quickly.
Update Feb. 2021: Had my first Gluten Free crust and it was delicious. Honestly don’t understand how they got cauliflower to mimic bread but it worked!
