Our server was amazing and he really did try his best to get people their food. But it took an extremely long time to get our food. Not only that but the older cook with the scraggly long hair (not the guy with the braid) was incredibly rude to our server. He was not communicating when the food was ready, and he didn’t even bother making all the food we had ordered until we were ready to leave after getting half of our food. I ordered The chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, and it was EXTREMELY bland. I also noticed the cook touching raw meat and frozen meat, and then not even wearing gloves or bothering to wash his hands and then immediately touching the toast for each entree and placing it on plates. It’s a huge safety hazard for cross contamination. I couldn’t Believe him. He should not be working back there. Arguing with the server constantly, highly unprofessional. Kudos to our server for truly doing his best. Tall young blond guy with earrings, he was awesome.

Most amazing chicken fried steak breakfast ever!! The chicken fry was as big as the plate, eggs, very large amount of hash browns & toast. Very friendly service, clean. Walked out with slice of homemade coconut cream that is to die for!

The food was good. Joni, our waitress was always working. She was hardly ever idle. The other waitresses was hollering across the room to each other gripping about tips. The cashier was away from the desk more than she was there. Thankfully, Joni was there to keep things flowing. We were pretty impressed by her and her attitude about it all.

Russell's restaurant you have cost your self at least 3-4 times a month visitor. I ordered a small chicken fry dinner, and a CUP of soup. I was served mashed potatoes and gravy,and a small portion of chicken fried steak.the Cup of vegetable soup was smaller than most coffee cups. Nothing else was mentioned. When the bill came I was charged over $10.00 for the steak and potatoes. The soup was billed out at $2.69 extra. When I questioned why the charge I was told that the meal included the salad bar,which by its self cost over $7.00. The only attempt to correct this was to say well you could take a salad home. I'm sorry,having been a customer since the 70s on I hope you train your staff in customer relations,and how an exchange of the soup at nearly a third of the value wasn't exchanged is beyond me. If your looking for great service and food most of the time this was "the" place to go. I assure you there are other places in Salina that wouldn't have ever even tried to down play the waitresses lack of explanation as to what come with the meal.

passing through on a Sunday and stopped at Russell’s. So glad we did!! Best food We’ve had in a long time! I had the Russell’s breakfast, husband had triple decker club and it’s the best he’s ever had- and that’s hard to beat! Oh and the pie!!! People in the waiting area told us it’s worth the wait and they were right!! Will be stopping again next time we are that way!
