Best Acaį bowls on the island. Great customer service and location. Would love to see this business expand out to North Shore & Waikiki. I tried the Sunset Shack's bowls up in North Shore and couldn't even finish it, had to return here to make up for that terrible experience.

Such a good bowl! All the ingredients were organic and locally sourced. Our large bowl was $12 with a bunch of toppings at no extra charge. Saw them on the side of the road and so glad we pulled over to give them a shot.

We happened to see the Sunset Bowls food truck off the side of the road after visiting Kuoloa Ranch. I'm so happy we did! The Acai Bowl was amazing! Their chicken salad sandwich was also tasty. One of the best places we ate during our visit to Oahu.

Have you ever waited your turn in a McD's drive thru line and say to your hubby, "I really should not eat this and we should be eating healthier?" And then while you are actually saying this you turn to the right and glance over to see a new food truck? But your eyes are so bad that you can't read the font so your 6-years old yells from the back, "It says SUNSET BOWLS!"
If you are reading this and sticking with me, you probably have figured out that this is a recent true life event from yours truly.
Upon seeing this magical oasis from the drive thru line, I knew I had to give it a try. The backdrop to Sunset Bowls is nothing short of majestic. Owned by a lovely local Hauula couple (Jo & Rod), Açaí Bowls are their thing. They feature organic, locally grown fresh fruit like mangoes and pineapples, just to name a few. There is a keiki option which, as a mom, I'm so grateful for. They also offer beverages like tea, coffee and even a cold brew tonic! There's also a sandwich and salad choice but because we went right before closing, it was already sold out.
Both my 6-year old and I ate everything in each of our bowls. We refused to share and are already planning our return!
So listen, you don't have to worry about parking because it's located in a parking lot! Jo & Rod fought their way to get into this cool space at Koolau Shopping Center so we have to support them to keep them there for a very, very long time!
I'm so excited to have them in our little corner of life!
