I really want to like this place. First experience was excellent. Good food, wonderful service. So we have literally tried to come back 4 times since, and can't get any service.
So we tried again, and the kitchen was closed. At a normal time. During dinner. When the online hours say they are open.
So no, we won 't be going back, sadly.

The Brick is the bomb. The service is good, and the food is delicious. We all had the fish fry. The fish was seasoned very well, and the fries were crispy. Our waitress was very friendly and engaging. The bar is very busy, and the bartenders were moving around continuously. The flow of people was no-stop. This is definitely a local neighborhood spot. I would definitely go again.

Sorry to say I've had to grade this down quite a bit from previous visits. We used to love The Brick's Friday Fish Frys and ordered takeout quite a bit. It has now been a while since we have ordered from The Brick. What a surprise! Let me start by saying the fish fry actually tasted pretty good....but the two-piece order literally had two tiny pieces of no more than 2" x 2" each. We don't need much food to be satisfied, but this was ridiculous. I understand some places are cutting portions rather than raising prices....but this was sad! In addition, they have really watered down their gumbo. It has always been a favorite of my husband, but today's version was, not only 1/2 of the usual serving but had virtually nothing in it except tomato. Not even one shrimp. We want to continue to support independent businesses, especially during these difficult times, but they need to do better than this. Personally, I'd rather see prices rise appropriately, than open the take out box and have literally nothing to eat!

Very disappointed in today's Mother's day brunch! The quality of the offerings were average at best and did not reflect the cost of $24 for adults and $12 for kids! The scrambled eggs reminded me of the free breakfast you get in some hotel chains. The country potatoes were not made in house but dry cubes that rolled around on your plate. The breakfast pizza fell of the crust due to the lack of cheese. No muffins, Danish or desserts, which we were told was extra, coffee was extra as well. The advertised omelets were kept stealthy, unless you asked, then were handed a slip of paper to fill our your request! The smoked salmon was accompanied by one type of cracker, no bagels, cream cheese, capers or onions. Much, much more but I believe this should make my point!
I've had business lunches at the Brick and have aways been satistied!! These past experiences prompted me to reserve for my family of 13, I felt terrible that my family was less than thrilled with my choice.

Great food. Great atmosphere. Great bar. Amazing employees. And wonderful bartenders. Definitely one of my favorite bars to go into and a weekly patron
