Not bad, not great. Pretty middle of the road. The sauce is sweet like you would expect of Texas barbecue, but it does not have the savory pepper flavor that most prefer. Loaded potato was pretty solid. sliced sausage plate came out cold, and the server mentioned that it had been left out on the counter and that that’s how it’s normally served

Being a lifelong lover of BBQ and Smoked Meats, I was totally unimpressed with The Vault Smokehouse. I ordered a brisket and pulled pork plate. I could hardly detect any smoke flavor on either meat. It tasted more like oven cooked vs. smoked. Very plain and unimpressive. Their BBQ sauces were lacking any distinctive flavor with a vinegar type taste and seemed to be "watered down". I was very disappointed in the meal after reading past reviews by others. The cost was not cheap for my meal and I felt it was definitely not worth the money I paid. I would not recommend The Vault for BBQ or Smoked dining.

After reading the owners comment to my review, I would suggest that you read the other comments here about the quality of the food. I'm not the only one here that thinks it's not of good quality, and the prices charged for their sub-par quality food is ridiculous. Considering the rudeness and personal attack they chose to level at me for an honest review, you should factor that in when it comes to how serious they take things at this establishment. I have been smoking meats for longer than the unprofessional "owner" has been alive and have also been a judge at many national competition level BBQ competitions. While I understand he wishes to defend his business, he should learn how to utilize the customer reviews to improve customer satisfaction and not be so sensitive to said feedback. His use of a public forum for display of his lack of professionalism and poor customer service skills speaks volumes ! Berating people for their honest views is akin to the quality of his restaurant. Pathetic and sad. I stand by my review.

Service was very slow. It took way too long to get our food. The brisket and ribs were good, but that's about it. The Mac & cheese was swimming in watery barely cheese sauce. The coleslaw had too much pepper in it. They serve whole chicken, but was told when we ordered bbq chicken we couldn't get white meat. ?

Amazing BBQ! My wife said it was the best chicken she has ever had. I had the frito pie. Loved it. Daughter got the brisket and daaaaang, the best I've ever had. Give this place a go. Worth the drive from Dallas or Ft Worth.

How can a restaurant that is only open four days a week, only until 7 mind you three of the days and 2 on the fourth, be out of almost everything by 6pm? Disappointed now for the third straight time since they relocated and won't try again. Now that I have read other reviews it's apparent that this is the normal business plan for the Vault. Oh well...
After seeing the response from the owner I must say I have never heard a more unprofessional and actually rude reply from a business towards a 'try-to-be' customer. Good luck with that attitude and thanks for the advice.
