I really only bother to write reviews when a place is actually exceptional and Wendigo definitely fits the bill. What a surprise treat! We were heading to Brooklyn to watch a friend play music and needed dinner. Figured we'd just have to deal with random bar food, but then stumbled upon Wendigo. Online reviews were good, decided to check it out. Super cute, hip space without being pretentious, locally sourced seasonal menu with great tasting and good variety and portions, very reasonable prices for high quality, unique dishes. The place was hopping with Friday night dinner, but we were seated right away. Service fast and very friendly. We had the poutine, kale Cesar salad, and roast chicken with squash and yummy couscous risotto. Too full for dessert, but it's definitely try the flourless chocolate cake next time! Worth the drive from Madison, better than most Madison restaurants, too. Thanks, Wendigo! :)

Yummy fried tomato sandwich and green salad. Nouveaux American cuisine. Great beer selection. Vegetarian friendly. Buys from local farms. Fresh and delicious. Right on Main street. Open Tues night when most other restaurants nearby are closed. 40$ sandwiches and beers for two with tip.

I usually get take out... food is usually decent but once in a while the order either isn't right or it's half cold. Still worth the stop.

Unique food options in a historic setting that looks great. Fairly small menu at the moment, good cocktails.
