I'm stretching out a 2 star because the air conditioning was broken. We were sweating like pigs in dress clothes. It was so uncomfortable that most guests left after 1 hour. The party planned almost a year in advance was an inferno. I literally brought 4 fans from home to try to help the heat. It was not enough. We even had a dehumidifier. It didn't help. The heat was unbearable. Really, a refund was in order because my guests left early due to the heat. I'm from Louisiana so even the best food in Delaware can't touch our food. Therefore, the food was okay, but I couldn't eat much from the heat! It was 90 that day, they knew it was hot! They should have provided the fans or canceled. I don't know what else to say. If the AC worked, it would have been great! I would not book here. It's irresponsible to not say the AC is not working when someone paid nice money to rent the place out. Not having fans was also irresponsible. The older family members left. The heat was too much for them. That's unacceptable! (See the sweat beads on my chest in photo)

I liked this place a lot! Very cool downstairs dining, had a great acoustic guitar singer playing some light jazz and soul music ... he was great. The food was excellent and so was the old fashioned 🥃😋 . Our server was fantastic. Overall a very good experience, would love to go back when I'm the area again! Definitely recommend 👌

The restaurant is very nice, but dark. It's located in the basement of an old house. That's what makes it so unique. The food was very good. Certain things were a little salty,but it balanced out the meal quite well. The drinks were very well made. At first my husband said it was weak and he couldn't even taste the alcohol. Well baby, 5 minutes later...BOOOM!! It was real. He enjoyed it. Our server Murphy, was very informative and adjusted my meal and was just so helpful and had a beautiful personality. We're definitely coming back.
