Blume was tasty - enjoyed the shrimp and grits! And it's a very cute spot. I would just warn that there is an 18% additional charge added to every bill - this is noted on the menu but the way it was worded I assumed it was added gratuity to the server. It turns out that the 18% (which really isn't a small amount of the bill) goes "to the house," so if you wanted your server to get tipped you would have to leave a tip on top of that. It just felt a little misleading. I feel like it would be less confusing for the customer if that 18% was made up for in the menu prices rather than feeling like a double-tip at the end of your meal.

Service is absolutely horrible. This place is really all about the aesthetics. Waited over an hour for food, 30 minutes for a drink, they simply can’t handle a busy crowd. Not to mention one waitress had horrible mannerisms and a bad attitude when I asked for anything. 1 star is really being nice.

This restaurant is aesthetically appealing. My meal was just ok. I was charged 18% automatically for the house tip but they don’t show you that. I tip 20% not knowing this so in total I tipped 38%. Reading other reviews I see I wasn’t the only person who didn’t see this til after the fact. You aren’t given a paper copy and if the house tip/charge is in writing it’s online and not everyone looks through the whole menu especially if you see what you like/want to order right away. I wish the best for Blume restaurant. It definitely has potential for growth.
