I have to admit that I chose this Mexican restaurant because “Gringo’s” made me feel like it wouldn’t be too overly-authentic. I like the less-authentic Mexican food because it caters better to my tastes. I have tried countless cheese enchiladas (my favorite food!) at various restaurants and these were some of my favorites! The sauce was excellent. If I were a local, I would frequent this restaurant. The service was good. They gave us various salsas to try. If you’re seeking super-authentic Mexican food, pass on this one. If you just want a stellar, Mexican-inspired meal, this place was amazing!

I think the name pretty much says it all. A restaurant serving Mexican food that tastes like gringos making Mexican food. That pretty much sums it up. However, the staff is very friendly and professional. Being that this is a college town, college kids are pretty easy to impress, so I'm sure by the time they wolf down their last bite they finally begin to realize how it tastes. But by then it's too late and they probably don't really care. It's food.

I would usually give a 4 or 5 star review as I've eaten here before and the food is usually excellent, but this time around was really rough. As I'm about halfway through my meal, I start having intense stomach pain, followed by a need to run to the restroom. This happened 3 more times within 30 minutes after I left the restaurant. Not sure if the food wasn't cooked all of the way through, but it was not a pleasant experience. Hopefully this was a one time experience as I have enjoyed my experiences in the past.

Very well served dishes. Salsa and tacos are very yummy! The service is good but sometimes it is very slow and need to wait good 15 minutes to recieve your food. The good part of that is that you get unlimited chips and salsa while waiting.

I used to go here often with my husband and we really loved it. But my most recent visit was so disappointing. The food didn't even taste like Mexican food - there was more flavor in the after dinner mints. The portions of cheese, sour cream, guacamole were stingy, and the salsa was so finely pureed it was hard to get it to stay on the chips (which were good). The side dishes (rice and beans) were particularly bland and had no character. On the plus side, the staff was attentive and prompt, the food came out hot, the drinks (raspberry lemonade) were tasty, there wasn't a wait for a table, and there was plenty of parking. Please make the food better - I would like to come back because I've always liked to come to Gringos.
