Some locals recommended this place to me, said they were fantastic. The place looked very rundown, chips in the paint over the hole in the wall for ordering and nothing at all in the dining area but a table with some magazines on it...but I decided to give it a go anyway. (Not even your basic paintings and Chinese decor...looked liked they were about to shut down entirely) Going here was a big mistake. I ordered a basic chicken with broccoli combo, pretty easy, right? Wrong. The chicken with broccoli was overly saturated with sauce. The broccoli was clearly fresh and the only decent thing about the meal, the chicken was weirdly soft and strange. It was basically swimming in salty brown liquid. The egg roll had a weird taste and was basically just fried cabbage. How can a Chinese restaurant screw up an egg roll of all things?? The fried rice was the biggest disappointment. Far too much soy sauce and just a few pieces of pork. No veggies or anything. Basically a salt lick. The combo said 10.95 but they charged me 12.95. It was awful. Never again.

I have to say that I'm very picky with my Chinese food wants. My top pick is Pink Bamboo in Portsmouth. But we've moved to Somersworth. We tried a couple places here and was not happy. Tonight I decide to try Happy City. It is now definitely up on my favorite places. The quality, texture, and flavor were spot on with what I love and expect. Loved everything I ordered. Food was ready for pick up very fast.
