I think every town I've lived in has had a restaurant called Hitchin' Post. And I do believe every one of them has been a mom and pop (brother, sister, cousin, etc) with classic burger and fried foods fare. Hitchin' Post is no exception, although they do add in a huge selection of Torani syrups to make a million different flavors of milkshake. I've been in at least a dozen times and service is always friendly and fast. Food is cooked (or fried) to order and is hot and fresh. Burgers are a little small, but get a double and feel like you're living large.

The Hitchin' Post is an unassuming road side stop on Maple St. The interior is conspicuously decorated with Red Sox and New England accents, and the food, though principally fried, is all delicious and reasonably priced. Strongly recommended for your burger, hotdog, french fry needs.
