Tried the week they first opened and although they had plenty of staff they were on top of each other. The service was slow and disorganized, bringing partial orders. Gave them the benefit since it was their first week and the food is decent. On our last visit we were seated with no menus or water. Sat for 20 minutes and were completely ignored. Another group was seated next to us and the hostess gave them menus and took drink orders as they sat down. Walked out and won't return. Update: Was in the area and it had been a year since we dined here so we thought we would give it one more shot. Similar to the other two visits; long wait for a table, and then long wait to be acknowledged for drinks/menu. Our waitress was terrible. She was cold from the start not giving us any eye contact as she attended other tables near us. We had to flag her down for coffee refills, it seemed she avoided us at every turn. Since we did not get a pot like other tables, she left behind our empty cups and brought new ones and the table became quite cluttered. Our food also took awhile and there were no updates to let us know this. After we got the food, no check back for coffee refills or to see how everything was. Just dropped off the check. We told the hostess about our service on our way out, but quite honestly, 3 strikes you're out. We've talked to many people who live in DeForest to see if we have just had bad luck, but they expressed similar outcomes. I cannot understand how this establishment has earned 4.1 stars.

Hands down the best country fried steak I've ever had. Perfectly seasoned and crispy. Even the toast was noticeably elevated from the standard. Highly recommended.

We had been here a few times and it was good food. But this visit was more than underwhelming. First the menu had been reduced to almost nothing (which I get to the point of cost efficient but still not much of a selection anymore.) Then my soda had a taste almost like cardboard to it. And I paid for a frozen patty cheeseburger. My wife said her hashbrowns and omelet had no flavor/seasoning to them. This will probably be the last time there unless I hear that they have new owners or major overhaul of menu and food quality. We usually get a pie to take home too but I wasn't going to chance the quality and taste of that to suck also for the price I would have paid for it.
