Best Italian in CT! The food is delicious, staff is exceptional, and live music is the icing on the cake! Donna the hostess is the sweetest and Avnor always makes sure my experience is great. Definitely try the steak and the truffle ravioli. The napoleon is the best dessert. Worth the trip from out of town for Polpo!

Dining at Polpo Restaurant for the first time and I understood why they placed a restaurant inside of a house, because the food and the atmosphere felt like home. First and foremost the waiters and their service was superb. Very attentive and accommodating. We started off with a delicious seafood salad and some wellfleet oysters, which I must say those oysters were ocean nectar. My girlfriend ordered the 'Risotto of the Day' which came with shrimp, scallops, and radicchio. I ordered the salmon and capers, with a side of garlic pasta and calms. Absolutely delicious! The salmon was cooked and seasoned to perfection, truly the best salmon I've ever eaten so far. If you're look for a restaurant that specializes in Seafood/Italian cuisine, this homey place would most certainly be it.

I took a friend to Polpo today for her birthday and we had a very negative experience. My salmon burger was literally still cold and my friend's hamburger was raw. When we told the waiter, he seemed annoyed that he had to take it back and didn't even apologize. They brought them back cooked to death and didn't replace the bun as most good restaurants do in this situation. The waiter asked us if we wanted dessert, we said" yes " and he never brought the menu! The restatement was not crowded (only 4 tables occupied) so it wasn't a staff shortage issue. Food was expensive which is fine if it's well prepared and service is good. I will never go back again!

Loved this place. Great atmosphere. Great food. Great bar. Service was fantastic. The pianist have the place a warm and fun vibe. A bit difficult to converse at your table if you are near the piano.
