Big J's was recommended as a good barbecue joint. Well they didn't disappoint. I had the Brisket Basket entrée with a Shiner Bock. I don't know if I got lucky or if they trim their brisket leaving some good fat on them but most of my meat was point and there were burnt ends on the plate. The bark was good. It wasn't the best I've ever had but it was good enough that I'll go back and take friends with me. By the way, I was there at 11am on a Sunday after church. I was the first customer there. If you are looking for a good after church meal this would be a good choice. I ended up here because every breakfast place on 41st had a long line.

The Waitress was pleasant. The atmosphere was okay. But!
Buyer Beware! I was really lookin forward to the Philly Steak and
Cheese I ordered. My food came and i was highly disappointed. It wasn't a Philly Steak Sandwich at all. It was a damn roast Beef sandwich! disguised as a Philly. I'm like What's this? I asked the Waitress, This is not a Philly Steak and Cheese It's a damn shredded crock pot Roast Beef sandwich. Not even close to Steak. She Says "Ya I know, that's how We make them here". Honestly, It wasn't even good Roast Beef and it's Flavorless.
Don't be fooled by the Philly "Steak" Change the wording on the menu.
It's false advertising people!

The smoked chicken on or in anything is awesome! Friendly staff, great service. It was very chilly inside, dress warm!
