There are straightforward American-style food. This restaurant is best known for its huge old-school oyster bar—think lots of dark wood, brass fixtures, and big mirrors. That oysters was fantastic and fresh. We’ve enjoyed also cheese sampler, fried calamari and baked oysters. Everything they do is absolutely delicious. The service was very fast and friendly. We were happy to choose this great restaurant to end our busy day in Washington, D.C.

You can't go wrong with this local, historical restaurant. It is everything the guide books indicate. I am so glad we found a place at one of the bars.
Love the decor. It has artwork everywhere. Love all of the dark wood.
I had a bowl of chili, very yummy. Hubby had hummus plate and salad. He said it was delicious. Wait staff our excellent and obviously know what they are doing. They are attentive and kind.
Go a bit early for either lunch or dinner. It is less crowded and you will get to eat at this historic location!

A great restaurant to try out at least once. They specialize in seafood so if that’s your preference then you’ll definitely like it. The atmosphere is very calm and gives a sort of fancier feel then if you were going to a regular restaurant. Our waitress was splendid, gave excellent recommendations, and made the meal much better.
It does have a bit longer of a wait time for your food but the food does taste pretty good. My table wasn’t the biggest fan of the smoked maple syrup but the calamari was fried just right and seasoned perfectly.
Will definitely take the trip to DC again for their food!

We were in Washington for one night and after reading and hearing amazing things, we chose to have dinner here. The oysters were fresh and the massive prawn you get with the bloody Mary is great value but unfortunately our other meals (the meatballs, clam chowder, crab & artichoke dip & half roasted chicken were average). The pork chop was well cooked but the sides and sauce were too sweet. The service at the door was friendly and helpful but quite brash and rude at the table. While the interior is nice and the location is cool, the food is not worth it. If you want to visit, better to grab a drink at the bar!

Wow, wow and wow! A friend recommended this establishment to me when I asked for dining recommendations for my upcoming DC trip. I am so glad I listened. The warm and inviting ambiance matched the service. And the food? Oh my goodness. Delicious. My SO ordered meatloaf. Who knew meatloaf could take on a such an extraordinary presentation.
