We’ve been going to the Goat Portsmouth for a few years now, and this past weekend reminded us why we love it so much. We had a large party of 12 which isn’t easy for a busy restaurant like the goat to accommodate considering we weren’t all showing up at the same time. The owner happened to be there and when I say he took care of us, I mean he was amazing. The food was great, the drinks were delicious and the service was amazing, our waitress kept checking on us and was so friendly. I love the goat and will continue to frequent their business. Thank you all for your hard work and to the owner for being a great host!

Let me start by saying the food was good his and served quickly. The reason for the 3 star review was the waitress. We were there on 2 for 1 burger night. We order 6 burgers among the 5 of us; 5 specialty burgers and one build your own. We also just ordered water. As I said at the top we enjoyed our food. When we got the bill, I was confused. We were charge for 4 of the burgers instead of 3 and there was a charge for 5 sodas. It turns out that the 2 for 1 is only on the specialty burgers and it is also a requirement to order a drink. Our waitress failed to inform us of these restrictions. I don't mind that they exist, but she should have told us. The build your own burgers was, essentially, the TV12 specialty burger ( just cheese). She really should have either made that adjustment automatically or informed us that the build your own didn't qualify for the 2 for 1. Same with the drinks. She should have told us we were going to get charged anyway so we could have ordered something other than water since we were paying for it. Lastly, she never came back to ask if we needed any refills on our waters and when we asked we had to ask twice a she didn't bring any refills the first time we asked.

Fun place with really good food. We stopped by for lunch. Had the real goat salad with brisket and pulled pork Tacos. Yes, that sounds weird but they were really tasty. The salad came with small cubes of nicely sauced brisket. Lean as well. Portions were huge. Friendly service too!
