I was in a rush one evening but called ahead to order some food. They told me it’d be ready in 15-25 minutes so I got there right at 25 minutes to quick run in, grab my food, and be on my way. My food wasn’t ready for another 25 minutes after I got there and I was pretty frustrated since I had a meeting to be at. In most situations, restaurants completely drop the ball. I knew the Tavern had good food and service, which is why I go there, but with so many other restaurants in Fargo to choose from a poor experience like this would keep me from coming back for a while. HOWEVER, the Tavern surprised me. When the hostess finally brought my food out she said she’d already talked to the manager and they were giving me the meal completely free. (A $27 tab, which is no small thing for me.) I waited a few days to post this review to make sure the charge actually dropped from my bank account; and it did. So, way to go Tavern. You compensated incredibly well for your mistake and left me speechless as I walked out the door, and wanting to come back for more. Also, kudos to the hostess for actually being aware of my situation to do something like that. You guys are doing good things there.

Anna spilled her water all over the table and floor lol The service was great, the food was great and I have a new favorite "sit-down" restaurant in town. The owners should be proud of their employees. They were clean and efficient and it seemed like they were proud to work there. Quality. There is no dress code but out of respect I would dress up! :p

We're really liking this place. But call ahead or you might get sat in 106 or 107 and if they do that you're better off sitting at the bar! What a stupid place to fit two more booths the first time we ate here I'd never been so uncomfortable in my life having everyone who entered the restaurant inspect me and what I was eating.
