It was my first time there.. I got the oyster sampler with a long island. And no doubt those were the best oysters I've ever eaten. And the drink was perfect.. I sat at the bar and the bartender was so friendly and attentive.. they were extra busy, but I got served in a very timely matter... I will definitely be returning...

If you love oysters, just get the big sampler and enjoy! Order a side order salad or favorite veggie and you are all set. The wait won't be long but you won't mind because you will be laughing at all the sayings on the wall. There really isn't a bad dish in the house. One of the best times to go is the second Friday evening and enjoy Artwork. It's close by. Convenient parking.

Being able to choose between waiting inside for a table or sitting outside without a wait was a nice touch. Waitress was nice enough to bring an extra plate for us splitting the food; didn't even have to ask. Good food, good drink selection, better service.

Great place to eat whether you're a local or visiting Mobile. I lived in Mobile a few years back in 80 and 81. My office was on Government St so Wintzell's for lunch was the place to go and also to take clients and out of town folks. The walls are covered with signs saying all kinds of things which provides great entertainment while you wait for your food. If you love seafood and fresh oysters this is the best place in all Mobile and the food is reasonably priced. For the non seafood eater in your group they offer other items on their menu.

Went for lunch passing through mobile. Like the atmosphere. Got the oyster sampler platter. I liked the Rockefeller oysters the best. I wish I would have tried the raw. I also got the daily special which was red snapper and it was fresh and delicious. Our waiter/bar tender, Jon, was great. I also got a cocktail where they give you a souvenir glass, but I accidentally left it, damnit.
