I love Avoli. It's the perfect place for an upscale date. Their food is amazing, they have a good variety of specials, and their staff is wonderful. I recommend Avoili to anyone looking for a relatively quiet nice place to go for a "fancy" dinner.

Was in the Omaha area and really wanted some authentic Italian. Well this hit the spot and then some. I had the Squid Ink Pasta and it was divine, the pasta was cooked perfectly and the seafood was fantastic! We also had the meat and cheese tray and well just everything was a culinary delight... fantastic place to visit if you're in the area.

Went last night for my mom's birthday. The sides we ordered were nice, except the artichoke hearts were underwhelming. I had the risotto, and it was too salty, way too salty. I explained this to our server, and she explained the salt content had to do with using pasta water in the risotto. I repeated, it was too salty, and asked how are the cooks supposed to control the salt of the risotto if they're using pasta water to make it? The server got defensive, raised her voice and repeated the explanation about the pasta water, and treated me as if there was something wrong my perception of the dish, and was annoyed when stating she would tell the kitchen. The interaction ended without resolution, really, and although I let the situation go, I wasn't happy with the dish. Then the server continued to neglect our table for most of the evening, came by to apologize for neglecting our table, then neglected the table again by making us wait to take care of our check, we were almost the last ones in the restaurant. Please train your staff to handle constructive criticism of your food -- this is important. Although I think the server most likely is a nice person and under stress, it doesn't justify a lack of hospitality and an overpriced dish that was not prepared correctly. Avoli, if you're going to charge good money for your food, make sure all of your dishes are seasoned correctly. Once the salt is in the dish, you can't take it out.
