Good, but not great. Been going to Beau Jo’s since I was a teenager. I remember it really being a treat going to the original location in Idaho Springs. First time I went was with a group of kids and parents after a football game my freshman year. So I was totally excited when they opened the location in Arvada what feels like 15 years ago. I was noticing yesterday as I was eating that the dough has changed. Ever so slightly. Totally recall those days when the Pies were made by hand. This meant that the sides of the pies had an extra special touch to them. Plus I clearly remember the dough having more flavor. A very memorable tastiness and the sweetness of real wheat, dough that was made fresh that day or week. Now though the dough is made in a factory for distribution to a chain of restaurants. And you can tell also by the holes placed in the dough for faster, and more consistent cooking. That’s great and all, but I do miss the days where it was made in-house by a person that was passionate about their creation. I’ll still come to Beau Jo’s, but it does not really feel like a treat as much as it used to actually be a real treat. Thankfully the ingredients are still of quality. Not recalling anything special about the sauce. Thankfully it doesn’t taste like mass produced canned nastiness. If that day comes, I think the chain should re-evaluate what they are actually passionate about! Keep with the good ingredients folks. Nostalgia is odd. But I do remember the days of hand made pies. The taste difference would literally blow your minds! P.S. DO NOT eat the nachos here!! The nachos are disgusting and sad. Pizza joints should not be serving Nachos. Unless y’all want to put some kind of a twist of the idea with something original.

The pizza here is bomb. Make sure to get the mountain pie with white crust and then add honey to the left over crust. You won't be disappointed. Even though the pizza is delicious, it is pricey for pizza. Be sure to present your AAA card when ordering since they do offer a AAA discount to members. Colorado pizza at its finest!

I love Beau Jo's Pizza. I would eat there every day If I could! I just love their Mountain and Plain Crusts. I highly recommend this establishment if you have never tried it before. The one in Idaho Springs is the first and Original Beau Jo's Pizza. I have to say that it is Colorado's Pizza better than a New York City Pizza in my personal opinion!
