Capital Oyster Bar has a lot to offer that makes you feel like you are way out in the country on the river. It has river access with lots of grassy places to sit outside and enjoy the river. It has great outside seating/dining under a porch or no roof patio with a stage. It just has that rustic vibe going on. Inside has a number of TVs for sports viewing, big bathrooms, a large foyer area where they are always displaying something. But the best part about the place is that the food is great. I believe I've enjoyed my food 95% of all the times eating there. Two things keep me from giving it 5 stars. One is that on some menu items the $ amount seems a bit high for what you get. Two the cover charge to hear the bands they have on Sunday evenings is a bit high. If you eat/drink and hear the band you need to be ready to spend at least $100. Just the cover can range from $10 -- 20 per person maybe more depending on the band. There are times I want to eat and enjoy some great bands but can't afford to drop that much $. There are other options in the River Region with food/band much cheaper.

I sat at the bar and had a half dozen steamed wasters, a half pound of red Argentinian shrimp, and a pretty hefty side salad. All good, reasonable price, great service from the bartender. Bonus, I think I got to ease drop on a tinder date sitting next to me.If you get lost, call the main number, and they will get you there.

Drove all the way to Montgomery from Atlanta to check this place out. Great coastal atmosphere, fantastic service and exceptional food. Seafood platter with fried shrimp, fried scallops, fried oysters, hush puppies, coleslaw, cheese grits, southern sweet tea and key lime pie. Everything was phenomenal and worth the drive. Sorry, no photos, left my phone in the car.
