Working here broke my soul. Food is amazing of course. The staff is totally great and cohesive. I love them as people. The policy is to not share tips amongst the staff. The cooks put on a show for you and answer your husbands' questions about how to build an oven in your backyard in Connecticut, entertain your kids who run and scream in front of the 800-1,000 degree oven, and only get a cool ten minute break every summer night. The people who work here are top-notch humans. Tip your server well because this place is a full-on corporation now and don't pay nearly enough for their employees to live in or near Portland. Oh, but the managers make crazy amounts of money and only the kitchen manager is consistently effective (and a great person).

The pizza is AMAZING. We had Jay's Heart and the one with onions and mushrooms so so good. Everything is locally grown and organic. This restaurant is kid friendly. The brick ovens are open to the patrons. Our server Emily was just wonderful. The view was great also.

What a wonderful place! We were a party of seven and waited over an hour to get in. We put our names in at 7:00, but I have to say, it was definitely worth the wait! I can't even begin to tell you how delectable the pizza was and how friendly the service was and how clean this establishment was! I would definitely go here again! Thank you Flatbread for the wonderful experience!!
