We were big fans of this place for several years and were supportive when they stayed open for COVID. However, recent experiences have not been as good. The service has been slow to absent even in a half filled dining room. We waited 20 minutes for the first visit from the waitress and ordered right away not knowing when she would be back (it was another 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive). We then waited another 45+ minutes (it could have been an hour) for our order. It was almost 90 minutes from our arrival to our meal. Usually the food is very good but our past couple of visits have been disappointing. The food has been warm not hot. Also it seemed as if they plated our food, let it sit, then placed it in the oven to warm it up. The beans and rice were crusty, not fresh, and the meat was dry and over cooked (like it was warmed in an oven). After such a wait, it was disappointing and discouraging that the food did make up the difference. There are other local restaurants to support and it will be some time before we go back here. We hope it gets corrected.

Pace is amazing! There was a waitress who could or was on something like drugs. Delicious food! Other than the waitress incident great workers always get orders correct. They try there best!

I would easily never come here if there were more options for Mexican food in the area. Your experience is automatically ruined if you're within earshot of the bartender- he's constantly going on political diatribes, making insensitive comments and being extremely rude to the waitstaff. This is a constant theme and I know people who refuse to go to Gusanoz specifically because of this bartender. The last two times I've been, we've been seated and then forgotten about for at least 20 minutes. On this last visit, when the waitress finally stopped by, she just stood next to the table and glared at us. I said hello, trying to start the conversation, and she responded "what do you want to drink?" Once we gave her our drink order, she just walked off- We had also wanted to order an appetizer. It ended up being well over an hour before we got our food. We were trying to have lunch but it ended up being an early dinner. By that point we had filled up on unsalted and extremely tough tortilla chips. When our food did arrive, it was cold. One of our group had pork tacos and had everyone at the table try the pork because she was impressed but how completely flavorless it was. It also seemed water logged for some reason. I've always felt that Gusanoz was hit or miss, but dining in has consistently been a bad experience lately. I probably won't be back anytime soon except maybe for take out.
