This was the best meal of our entire honeymoon and perhaps it might be the best meal of our entire lives. Everything about Provender was perfect! The food, the atmosphere, and the service were top notch! We ordered the bison tartare for an appetizer, and the pesto chicken and steak dishes for our entrees and ended the evening with lemon meringue. All of our dishes were perfectly balanced and you could taste the love and care in every bite! We were able to meet the chef, Daron and thank him in person for the meal! Just so you know, in order to eat here you need to book an online reservation that would take a deposit to hold your spot. After your meal you will be refunded your deposit! If you can get a reservation, this is an absolute must do!!!

I have pretty much tried every restaurant in the Ellsworth area but had never gotten around to going here because they get quite busy and often need a reservation ahead of time to get a spot. I finally got around to trying this place 4 years later 😅…. And boy this place does NOT disappoint. The seating was nice, the menu was unique with a great variety of food options that you don’t see much of in this area, the service was wonderful and attentive. I need to comment again on how delicious the food was, words can’t even describe it because you just need to go here and experience the taste for yourself! We had the truffle fries, figs appetizer (I don’t usually like figs but Apparently I do now). The red snapper dish was so flavorful and the bits of lemon was such a nice added taste. Sirloin dish was also just absolutely melt in your mouth tender and delicious. The drinks were made quite well too and I liked that they sold craft beer that was local to Maine. In my opinion, if you are specifically looking for great tasting food this place is easily one of the best within a 25 mile radius around the Ellsworth area

I seldom give restaurants 5 stars. We were just leaving Arcadia after some hiking and saw this restaurant. It wasn’t our first choice, but everything else was closed. So we went into the provender. This was a hidden gem in Ellsworth . The Brussels sprouts and ham and cheese sandwich was very good. The decor was great, no cut corners, and the service was great. The day before we went the reds after all the articles and food network said that it was the best restaurant in Maine but clearly they didn’t go here. This was by far Maine’s best restaurant.
