My kimchi fried rice was good, but the bathrooms were just gross. My friend ordered sushi, and later regretted that choice. Don’t order sushi on a Wednesday night. Fried rice: 3 stars Service: 3.5 stars Bathrooms: 1 star

I used to live 12 steps up the street from this restaurant; even then the times I went here were so rare as the prices are too high for the quality. I decided to give Shin La another go during my lunch break at work. Upon opening my katsu donburi after rushing back to work, I found a **metal staple** sitting in the chicken; if I wanted to be picky-- chicken was cubed not sliced. As stated above, it was my break, I had to eat. So, I tossed the **staple** and stomached what I could. My partner called the restaurant while I ate only to have them argue that according to the manager, they needed me to bring the food in today, tomorrow, or any day after. Then I called, the food in the trash by this point, they wanted to see a photo explaining, if they refund everyone who complains how will they have a business. To which I replied. "by not making mistakes like this". I expressed deep disappointment as I've given them multiple chances and this has by far been my worst and last experience with Shin La. Japanese is my comfort food and it's severely disappointing to not be believed for an error like this.

Super friendly young man for takeout. The fish is fresh and generously sliced. However, they do not use sushi rice which really takes away from the sushi flavor. Also, takeout is given in #6 plastic containers...styrene leaching into food...in Vermont. Please stop this!
