So my Husband and I went to the Schooner restaurant and we sat at the bar area! And I just seemed like a blah atmosphere. And there were a bunch of young people standing around. The restaurant was very out dated. So my husband ordered a cold mug and glass had a film on it. I and we ordered shrimp and catfish for him and I had shrimp and stuffed shrimp. And they started us off with a salad that looked as if it had been sitting out all day long And just didn't taste good at all. So that was a no go. And about 20 minutes later we received out food. 5 shrimp and 2 pieces of catfish with steamed broccoli. And I had 5 shrimp and 2 stuffed shrimp and baked potato. Oh yes I had a diet coke. 56.12 the prices are ridiculous. And the food was not that good at all. We definitely will not be back. It definitely needs some TLC And New Management.

My seafood was cooked in old oil. And my friend was not happy with her food either.

I really wanted to give 5⭐️, but I just can’t. This place is old school, which is great. And the service we received was fine. The food however, was not 5⭐️ at all. I love fried calamari, so that’s what I ordered as my entree. It was over-cooked (easy to do) and tough. And the breading could use some seasoning. My wife ordered boiled shrimp, and it was bland, to say the least. My son ordered fried shrimp. Amazingly, 20 minutes from the Gulf, and he gets frozen, pre-battered shrimp. They too were lacking seasoning. I know this place has been here for 75 years, so they have to be doing lots right, but we must have gotten the wrong dishes. I have had their fried crab fingers before (to go) and loved them. I’ll have to try something different next time.
