I’d been traveling a lot for work recently. There is always a certain amount of uncertainty that comes along with dining in an unfamiliar city. Reviews to be read and words-of-mouth to be spread, just as likely to be forgotten again before you can manage to write down your friend’s aunt’s favorite bar in Topeka. But I digress, While Corner is truly a lovely space that has its own sort of gravity to it, it’s the staff that blew me away. I especially felt as if The Universe had put me in exactly the right place at the right time when I crossed paths with Casey! There’s an art to putting a mind at ease, especially a mind worn weary from travel. Clearly as passionate and knowledgeable about her craft as she is about creating meaningful connections, Casey was even able to steer The Most Indecisive Man in All the World in the right direction. I don’t like to do too much thinking when I’m not getting paid for it, you know what I mean? She asked me if I simply had a preferred spirit, and she’d make magic happen. Couldn’t have been happier!! All the praise for Casey! Austin is home for me most times these days, but Casey very well may have me wanting to rush back to a hotel!

Bar Scene Greatness Corner is a prime spot for people watching to experience some Austin weirdness roll by, and to regularly enjoy a fine drink or meal when downtown. It’s a very popular spot for tourist who like being outdoors being able to sit at a bar or comfortable lounge seating. In the past occasions of being here I have met people from all over. I decided to order the Crispy Fish Tacos. This place does have a nice vibe. It’s not eccentric but a bit more modern luxury. The tacos arrived and had three lined up. It was nicely presented. The taste of the fish was really good. It had a nice flavor to it and the extras on top of it, snap pea slaw and honey chipotle sauce, made it more enjoyable. The fish tacos were filling and place them above many others I had in the past. Overall it was an excellent choice for lunch in the heart of downtown.

Our server Ali was just a delight! She was accommodating and made sure we had everything requested quickly. The food was wonderful and you get a lot of food for the price. We weren’t able to finish off everything in one sitting. Great place to get breakfast or brunch!
