Never lets us down! Wonderful food at a good value! My favorite is the Ruby Red Trout and the 5 cheese Mac and cheese with chicken. Super consistent in flavor and always friendly service. Good selection of drinks as well! Love the outdoor patio area for a more informal dining experience. They're known for their Blondie Pie. As someone who doesn't love chocolate, this throws me into a happy dance when I taste it!

It's all in the details, they focus on all the details at this restaurant, i mean ALL the details,.... and it shows. Food, atmosphere, friendly prompt knowledgeable and attentive waitstaff The quality of their ingredients, and their recipes are very good to begin with, but all the sauces and garnishes are all a bit...'different', but always excellent. I am a very picky eater, yet am always impressed by what Mr Gilmore has concocted in his kitchens and chosen to feature on his menu. A good portion of the fare is sourced locally, and there is always a hint of whatever is coming into season amongst the flavor profiles of the new dishes. Subsequently, the menu is a bit small, but I'd choose exceptional quality over wide variety any day of the week. Service has never been second rate, their staff seem to possess a 6th sense...I've never had an empty glass of ice tea, yet I've never had to ask for a refill. I've never had anything even as mundane as an average experience here. It is always on point, on all points. Rest assured, not only will your food, whatever you order, be uniquely and absolutely delicious, the whole experience will be excellent.

Jack Allen's is legit one of the best places in Austin. We've been a fan for years, and they've even catered our wedding back in 2011 when they used to do that. Jack's menu has stood the rest of time. Their specials are fantastic, and when they found out the margaritas has gluten in them (my wife is allergic) they even changed their recipe for it. Hands down great value. You can seat 2 adults, two kids, appetizers, drinks, and dessert for far more reasonable prices than "trendy" places who either charge more or dont have nearly as good food. If you don't like Jack's, you're standards are wrong and I suggest you just move back to LA where at least you can feel important about it.
