My daughter and I stopped by for a quick bite and cocktail after a museum visit. We recommend the smoked salmon pate. We split a grilled chicken sandwich that came with a side salad that was perfectly dark and leafy green with a light dressing. It was the perfect accompaniment to the sandwich. Our server was great too. She made sure our drinks were well taken care of.

Excellent location – I can’t say that enough. Rittenhouse Park is a block away and gave me a great spot to relax until my friend joined me. I really liked the setting too. I ate outside, but the inside had a swanky look to it that I enjoyed. Great outdoor seating with many patrons passing by the table on a Thursday summer night. I had the fish and chips that were good (7/10). Big piece of deep friend cod and the fries were delicious wedges. My friend had the tandoori chicken and said it was good. I ordered a whisky soar but would pass on the drinks next time – just too expensive for the quantity. Overall I’d come back for the location, setting and service, and would recommend The Dandelion to anyone looking for a sit down meal in the city.

We decided to try this place since it was close to our hotel and had an eclectic menu. We enjoyed all our dishes. We ordered the prawn appetizer (essentially a shrimp cocktail served nicely), the dandelion salad (had a very tasty lemon vinaigrette), the fish and chips, bangers and mash, and I ordered an extra helping of fried potatoes (if you like French fries, these are a must try - fresh cut and sizable). The beer selection was good and offered some local options. The server was attentive and we were able to sit outside. Many restaurants in Philly have these pod-like on-the-street seating options for small parties (4 or less). The hustle going by right next to us was the only downside. The establishment is definitely NOT AT FAULT for this as Philadelphia's sidewalks and streets in this area are cramped and not wide. It just makes dining a little less comfortable with so many people going by at arm's length. Overall, a very nice dine with good service.
