An honest local review: I’ve been coming to this place since they opened. I really WANTED to like them. Every time I come in I feel like daggers are being shot at me from the cash register attendant. They are always incredibly short, rude, and never say hi. They act like you are a bother, coming in as a customer. I have tried most major items on their menu. Almost everything is tasteless. Almost everything tastes the same (especially the chicken - no matter the flavor, it all tastes… like crusted rubber). I don’t know what they do to make their food so tasteless. The ONLY reason why I am giving two stars and not one is because their oxtail fried rice is decent. I wanted to like them because of their location and restaurant design. But they’re rude, most items on the menu are tasteless, and even though they have BIG portions (a plus)… it isn’t very good. I think it might be the oil they use. Because I honestly don’t know how even the carrots are tasteless? I stopped going for a solid 8 months. I tried again two days ago, got sambal beef. All I tasted was salt and oil. It’s disappointing every time.

I started coming to Thep when they first opened. The presentation, quality and taste were amazing for a restaurant in Pahoa. I'm eating now, and was so disappointed in my experience that I had to leave a review. They served me warm food with doughy tofu and hard, bland vegetables. When I asked a staff member about it, she stared me down and told me that my food was not cold, they have no microwave and they couldn't help me. She literally looked like she could have thrown something at me and kind of scared me to be honest. I hope my daughter and I don't get food poisoning. Pray for us!

This had to be the worst tasteless food I’ve ever had. I was there celebrating with my daughter spent over $50 for two meals I did not eat the fried rice or noodles were tough rubbery. Chewy. Ewe. Don’t ever eat there again. No taste in carrots either. I think they soak everything in water it took the natural flavor and vitamins out of the food. I had shrimp with tails on. I’m so disappointed in the cooks and quality. I told the girl at the cash register she said I’m sorry. But clearly didn’t mean it.
