been eating here for over a decade, there's been a lot of changes so it's time to update my review. Unfortunately they have a new manager which is not helpful and friendly at all like Melanie used to be. It's still the same rustic atmosphere except now on Thursdays they have some loud DJ doing trivia which disrupts the entire dining room. Pretty much all the meats are hit or miss. Sometimes they're amazing....moist and tender, sometimes they're dried out. They have fresh cut fries which are really great. The burgers are always good, sometimes they're better than other times I guess it depends on who's in the kitchen... They're fresh, not frozen, and when the right person is back there cooking them, they're really flavorful and tender. the onion rings are fantastic, the bark of the brisket is always amazing, the best I've had. The mashed potatoes are delicious. the prices are decent. The sweet potato pie is good. fish fry has a nice crispy batter. The brownie was hard and dry and not good at all. The cheesecake in a cup was really great! There is a nice big outdoor patio in the back.

Look, this may not literally be the best barbecue in New York, but it's the best I've had. There's certainly better sauces out there, but the perfectly melted meats with the right amount of bite is rare. The Memphis sauce was the best of them. The hush puppies were great, as were the collards. Wonderful neighborhood joint feel. People at the bar, people on the patio, and people in the dining area. Just great.

Simply amazing, and by far the best BBQ in Buffalo. If you haven't been here, just get there ASAP! Pro tip, sit at the bar in a night when Eric is working. He's a shorter fellow, shaved head, and will give you the best damn experience you could imagine. It feels like Cheers, but with better food and a far superior to a Ted Dansonesque bartender.
